The new Broom 370 - A very special boat

The new Broom 370 retains the legendary handling and sea keeping of Broom's hand-crafted boats, but this boat offers power, economy, green credentials and sleek interior design. The beautiful and flush panoramic transom window, shows off the joys of the vast aft cabin. The chaise longue in the saloon is contemporary and comfortable and the pop up LCD television is discerningly blended into the hand made solid wood furniture.

For raw power, engine choices include twin Volvo 330's producing 30+ knots. For pure economy, the Nanni hybrid gives four hours of electric only cruising, saving £s in diesel. For the best of both worlds, the single Volvo 370 gives economy and 20 knots plus. The versatility of the boat affords luxurious cruising, both at sea and on the river.

The Andrew Wolstenholme hull design has a medium 'v' planing hull with a shallow skeg/ keel which allows higher cruising speeds whilst retaining low speed handling. The air draft can be further reduced by lowering the radar arch. This allows freedom to cruise unrestricted in many of Europe's finest inland waterways. As with all Broom motor yachts customer feedback has played a major role in the design and interior layout of the 370.

Hull Design & Construction

The hull mouldings are produced using hand laid chopped strand mat and woven rovings in Lloyds approved isophthalic and orthophthalic resin over a double-brushed isophthalic gel coat, all but eliminating the risk of osmosis. Transverse and longitudinal stringers are incorporated for strength. The hull and deck joints are both riveted and bonded.

Deck Layout

Well laid out to provide an easy to handle and safe boat when either mooring or anchoring. A major feature on the 370 is the easy and safe access from both sides of the transom with more than adequate safety rails and handholds. The side decks run outboard to the complete deck area with a reduced slip surface and substantial 25mm safety rails. The aft deck area has sliding doors to port and starboard enhancing the security aspect when cruising with children or in inclement weather. The cockpit consists of a full width transom mounted bench seat, with rotating helm and navigator seats. This combination allows for excellent aft deck socialising.

Command Position

The large console has been carefully laid out to give good vision for the engine instruments and navigational aids. The driving position gives excellent visibility for the helmsman and crew with protection provided by the large windscreen. An easily removable two part canopy covers the helm station and aft cockpit. Forward of the mast the hinged frame system can quickly and easily be unclipped and stowed in good weather.

Deck Saloon

The deck layout provides an easy to use boat when either passing through locks, low bridges or just mooring up, and provides comfort and safety when cruising offshore.

A major feature of the 370 is the easy and safe access from both sides of the transom. The access doors to port and starboard enhance security with children or in inclement weather.

The extensive cockpit has a large dinette seating area with a table outside for dining and a portside lockable stowage cabinet.

Galley

Complete with twin stainless steel sink units, hot and cold water mixer tap. Three burner hob unit with oven and grill. 12v & 240v electric refrigerator. Crockery stowage and cupboards.
