Broom apprenticeships: modern boat building, restoration & servicing
Happy National Apprenticeships Week 2021 to all the apprentices out there developing their careers and helping to “Build the Future”. This week is about celebrating you and your future and encouraging others to consider how apprenticeships help individuals to build a rewarding career.
We’re delighted to welcome the first of our apprentices onto the Broom apprenticeships scheme. Ethan, Izaak and Jacob have joined our marine servicing team to acquire engineering and boat building skills. We’re really pleased that they’ve chosen to start their careers with us.
Our business relies on a wide range of skills, including heritage as well as modern boat building, restoration and servicing techniques. Through apprenticeships we’re able to give great individuals the opportunity to build a career, while also preserving the heritage crafts that have served Broom for over a century.
We’re fully committed to developing a robust and relevant Broom apprenticeship framework and our apprentices will also be providing help and advice to schools and other young people. We’ve also partnered with TrAC who helped us recruit and support our first apprentices.
If you’re interested in applying for a Broom apprenticeship call Michaela Pye on 01603 712334. You can also follow National Apprenticeships Week on social media via #NAW2021.
