LAUNCHING BROOM GREEN10
Brundall has been home to Broom for over a century. We want to play our part in protecting our environment, which includes providing ways in which the Broads can continue to be a destination for visitors who play their part in understanding and supporting it. This is a great opportunity to upgrade our sustainability and biodiversity and to encourage more visitors to the area.
Our vision is to install on-site solar and micro wind generators, ground and air source heat pumps, and wastewater recycling. Additional energy will come from the purchase of green renewable energy.
We’re also working with Natural England to ensure that new developments improve biodiversity in the marina. Such as how to utilise floating pontoons to create new habitats.
In addition, we aim to make leisure activities zero carbon. This includes offsetting boating holidays and working with transport partners to provide low carbon footprint travel. Ultimately, we aim to have a full electric hire fleet, in addition to our electric day boat hire and bike rental.
PARTNERSHIPS
We know that achieving net-zero is a tough challenge and not something we can achieve alone. So, a huge thank you to all our partner organisations for getting us started on this journey. Current partners include Natural England, Beond Group, Watr, and Soldr.
If you’re interested in becoming a partner or would like to know more about our plans, get in touch via our contact form. Follow us on LinkedIn for further environment and sustainability updates.
