Introducing Triple Bottom Line Accounting

The focus of our strategy at Broom is the environment. Our business is in the most beautiful part of the Norfolk Broads, and we’re working hard to do what we can to protect it.

We also need to modernise the older buildings on-site, which provides the perfect opportunity to make operations more sustainable. We may be at the beginning of a challenging journey, but we’re excited about the opportunities it presents.

We’re also delighted to have professionals like Triple Bottom Line Accounting (TBLA) on the journey with us, and grateful to Lucy Marks at Norfolk Network for the introduction.

TBLA is a progressive accountancy practice with strong values and unique philosophy. They’ve helped us evaluate our current carbon footprint and decide on actions and targets to reach net-zero emissions.

The resulting Sustainability Policy contains ten ambitious aims, which we call Broom Green10. Achieving these targets requires the support and willingness of many parties, including suppliers and government organisations.

Thanks to Fran Ellington, TBLA Business Development Director, and her team for giving us their professional guidance and advice. “Broom Boats are leading the way with their environmental and sustainability plans for 2022, and we hope that we have added some value,” said Fran.

We’re happy to support and help other organisations in any way we can with our learnings as they set out on their sustainable journey. Call 01603 712334, or email service@broomboats.com
