Now serving Paddy & Scott’s coffee
Earlier this year we knocked down our old riverside shack to make way for a brand-new, non-leaking kiosk. It’s now stocked with cold drinks, ice cream and snacks, including family-size tubs of Tyrells crisps.
We now also serve take-away Paddy & Scott’s community coffee called ‘Muchomba Classic’. This was their first coffee when the business began 13 years ago, the proceeds from which help support coffee farmers around the world.
If you’re joining us for a boating holiday, you’re welcome to pop to our kiosk for a coffee while you wait. Brundall residents, Broom mooring holders, boating enthusiasts and holiday makers are also welcome.
So much more than coffee
It wasn’t just the coffee that attracted us to Paddy & Scott’s. Their business is a huge local success story. It began with a vision to cut out the middlemen and buy coffee direct from farmers.
For Paddy & Scott’s, coffee is a “vehicle for change”. They’ve transformed coffee farms, simplified and shortened the supply chain, and helped ensure a better way of life for their farmers. This includes funding much needed work at the local school.
The project was a huge undertaking. The roof needed replacing, the windows weren’t glazed, it needed proper paths, running water, new toilets and washrooms. They even created a miniature working coffee farm and processing plant where the children learn about modern coffee farming methods. The proceeds from the sale of the coffee funds school places for families who cannot afford to send their children to the school.
We’re delighted to be able to serve our customers coffee that tastes good and comes direct from the people who grow it. We’ll also be stocking Paddy & Scott’s instant coffee bags for you to takeaway and enjoy on your travels.
