At Broom Holidays we’ve just completed the first of what will be an annual deep clean of our hire fleet. To ensure the highest possible finish we appointed Smart Image, a Norwich-based commercial and domestic dry cleaner.
Winter is the best time to get the boats off the water and carry out repairs and maintenance. It’s not however the ideal time to be cleaning the inside of boats. Any damp trapped inside a boat can result in mould or mildew growth.
This is one of the reasons why we chose Smart Image for the job. Their cleaning system leaves the boats dry as well as clean. “Our customised machine removes at least 95% of the water and almost halves the drying time,” says Khurrem Sharif, owner of Smart Image.
There are many different types of surfaces on a boat, some of which can’t be cleaned at very high temperatures. Smart Image use a combination of heat and chemicals to ensure even the most difficult surfaces are thoroughly cleaned.
“We clean surfaces ranging between 100 to 130 degrees with a minimum contact time of 3 minutes,” Khurrem explains. “The chemicals we use are EN 14476:2013 + A2 2019 approved containing virucidal characteristics which act as a safety layer in our deep cleaning process. Our years of experience and knowledge in dealing with stains and soiled fibres ensures the boats are cleaned safely and professionally.”
Smart Image always ensure that the appropriate PPE is used by their technicians when cleaning the boats. They also ensure cleaning equipment and materials are fully sanitised before and after each surface has been cleaned.
We’re really pleased with the results and look forward to welcoming back our holiday customers in the spring. This builds on our routine cleaning system called CleanAboardTM. This four-stage process ensures boats are cleaned to a high standard between hires.
