5. Cycling

There’s a saying among the locals that Norfolk is flat until you get on a bike! Plan your own route or choose from one of the marked cycle routes around the Norfolk Broads area. Broom Boats do not have bike racks, but you can book a fold-up bike when booking your holiday or by contacting us directly.

8. Outdoor swimming at Beccles Lido

Beccles Lido is an alternative way to cool down if you don’t fancy a swim in the river. The Main Pool has a 3.7-metre deep end with a springboard and a slide. The Toddler Pool is 0.75 metres deep, and the adjoining Splash Pool is 0.27-metres deep. All pools are heated to 28°C in the summer season.

9. Go-karting at Ellough Raceway

Ellough is a little further from the river, so you’ll need to moor up at Beccles Quay and book a taxi to Ellough (around 10 mins). You can book karting sessions in 15-minute slots. Children must be over eight years old.

10. Parachuting at Ellough

Fancy something a bit more thrilling? A short way up the road from Ellough Raceway is UK Parachuting. Pre-booking is essential, and jumps are dependent on weather conditions.

Something a bit slower

There are also more relaxing things to see and do on a Norfolk Broads holiday. Take it easy and enjoy the beautiful countryside, spot rare wildlife and plants along its banks, or discover the area’s history.

Fold-up bikes can be added to your holiday package at the time of booking. These are handy to have on board for days when you want to go a little further.
